I was given a sample packet of Lancome's new Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate to try and it is a pleasant enough product.This serum is a thick, unscented, clear liquid that spreads easily but requires a minute or two to absorb. It felt a bit thick and sticky during application. Lancome spent 10 years developing this product and it has 7 international patents.
This is very similar to Estee Lauder's iconic Advanced Night Repair and based on the the bottle with the dropper applicator as well as the use of the ingredient Bifida Ferment Lysate, it seems Lancome wants to gain some of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair customers.
However, it is also very different. Price is one area where they differ greatly since Advanced Night Repair sells for $46.50 and Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate sells for nearly twice that. Advanced Night Repair contains numerous humectants and vitamins such as Squalane, Sodium Rna, Sodium Hyaluronate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol, Pantethine, Hydrogenated Lecithin and also contains a lesser amount of alcohol.
Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate is a nice product but I prefer Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, it is what I use, what I like and what I am used to. However, for those who do not care for Advanced Night Repair and for those with extra pocket money, this might be a worthwhile alternative.
Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate retails for $78.00 for a one ounce bottle with dropper applicator and is available online from the Lancome website or at better department stores with Lancome counters.

I think it works great, I am 50 years old and have always taken care of my skin, age spots started appearing and now with using this product after a week, they are getting lighter and the crows feet are fading. Great product.

ReplyDeleteMy mother always told me your never too young to start using eye cream especially with the damage the sun can do. I got this as a tester from Sephora and I'm 16 and I love it! My eyes feel less puffy for school in the morning when I use it the night before. Great, another product I'm hooked on...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we can try a product and just instantly know that it's "the one?" Sephora is an awesome store because they allow samples which, in my opinion, is always good. Too bad that most of the cosmetics counters at departments stores aren't equipped to prepare samples. This is something that would increase sales and reduce returns, I would imagine.

ReplyDeleteI have been using genifique for about 2 weeks now and i have to say, it is an AMAZING product. I have never used anything so effective. You use it after you cleanse and tone your face, right before you put your moisturizer on. And the great thing is, you can use it with any skincare line. When you use genifique, no matter what kind of moisturizer you use after that, your skin will look brighter, feel smoother and softer and look younger! garanteed! A way better product than ANR. by far. And worh every penny!

ReplyDeleteI received a 7 day trial supply of Genifique in the mail. After 3 applications (each morning and night) this morning my eyes are almost swollen shut. No I did not put it on my eyes.
ReplyDeletenot supposed to put it on your eyes lol, it's a facial serum. There are great Lancome eye serums, like the Renergie Microlift RARE or the High Collaser 5x eye serum. Also when you apply anything around your eyes, make sure it is not directly on or under your eye lids, just tap it in on your bone. It should be applied wherever you can feel the bone around your eye socket. Our skin is not perfectly smooth, there are microscopic channels on the surface that will carry the product where it's supposed to be, and if there is too much product or it's too close, you're going to get the broken dam effect and most of your product will end up IN your eye
